Recertification

As a HUD requirement, we must complete an annual recertification 60 days prior to the tenant’s lease renewals.

            This Annual Recertification Process consists of:

  • Annual gross income: All household members must provide proof working wages, family help, social security monthly amount, pension, child support, unemployment, etc.
  • Disclose assets such as bank statements for a savings and checking account, IRA’s, Life insurance policies, annuities, Cash App’s, Venmo, Zelle, Square Cash, PayPal, etc.
  • Medical Expenses if applicable: Out of pocket medical costs, Receipts for prescriptions, co-pays, or medical treatment.
  • Childcare Expenses: Tenants on our HCV (section 8) program that enroll their children in a childcare program, or pay for a babysitter, daycare, or aftercare are entitled to an allowance at recertification.
  • Any member at the age of 18 or over in the household that is a full-time student x
  • Completed annual Inspection of the unit. Tenants must comply with the Housing Inspector with scheduling. If the unit fails, the landlord and tenant will be notified. Tenant and landlord must comply with each other for any repairs the unit may need as per the inspection failure. A window of 30days is given for any failed items to be completed.
  • HUD and Cliffside Park Housing Required Documents that are required for signature must be completed.
